SECU Maryland Opens Doors to New Location in Downtown Baltimore
Maryland’s largest credit union continues dedication to Baltimore with new financial center on downtown’s Pratt Street, infusing holistic-approach to wellness

BALTIMORE (June 26, 2023) – SECU, Maryland’s largest state chartered credit union, opened its newest Baltimore financial center in the heart of downtown at 250 Pratt Street on June 26, 2023. This location was thoughtfully chosen so SECU can continue to serve, support and build lasting relationships with the Central Business District community and make a positive contribution to the financial well-being of Marylanders by extending access in this highly trafficked downtown core.

To celebrate the grand opening, SECU invites Baltimore City residents to a week-long in-branch celebration, featuring raffles, giveaways and complimentary financial wellness check-ups.

“This Pratt Street location is truly at the center of downtown and we believe it will extend our reach and enable our members to access financial wellness more easily,” stated David Sweiderk, CEO & President of SECU. “As we continue our dedication to the city, this location represents one more step towards our mission to be the credit union of choice for Marylanders. We look forward to continuing to serve our members in the heart of downtown.”

This announcement comes on the heels of the University of Maryland Baltimore location, at 418 W. Baltimore Street, closing in May. As with all SECU locations, the credit union offers many ways to bank. The new Pratt Street center is state-of-the-art featuring the latest innovative banking technology, including two full service ATMs, two interactive teller machines (ITMs) and a self-service station, enabling members to interact with a live SECU teller in a remote location. Members have the flexibility of walk-in access, appointments or self-service banking to best suit their needs.

SECU and the SECU MD Foundation is dedicated to being active, impactful members of the community through corporate giving, community impact grants, and volunteer programs. SECU’s downtown location specifically looks forward to supporting this community through a variety of initiatives and programs that bring SECU employees, members, and neighbors together as a force for good.
