In May, to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, SECU partnered with the Iron Rooster and Ryan Ripken to recognize a special educator and award them with free breakfast for a year. We received hundreds of heart-warming nominations from across the state, but one stood out above the rest: Brooklyn Park Middle School teacher Emily Davis!
Ms. Davis has taught English Language Arts at the school for 11 years. SECU, Ryan Riplen, Iron Rooster, and local news outlets were there to surprise Ms. Davis with the award. Links to the coverage are below.
Ms. Davis said, “No matter what else is going on, it’s all about the kids. I never dread going into work!” Her favorite restaurant is Iron Rooster, and she looks forward to all the yummy Iron Rooster pop tarts.
This initiative is part of our commitment to give back to our communities by supporting great educators. We look forward to partnering with Ryan Ripken on other initiatives throughout the year.
