Part of this service is constantly building a better SECU. A credit union that’s more responsive to your financial needs, utilizes the latest in banking innovation, and provides the greatest level of education and support. In 2025, we instituted many advances that will make your banking experiences better in the months and years to come. This includes:
- Seeing, monitoring, and learning how to improve your credit score through online banking.
- Tracking your home’s value and discovering how to leverage it with Home Value Tracker.
- Receiving your direct deposits up to two days sooner with early pay.
- Having more options for overdraft protection with CoverMe.
- Opening an account quicker and easier with our new account opening platform.
- Being more protected from fraud, scams, and identity theft through our partnerships with leading financial security providers.
Continuing to serve Maryland
Our dedication to community does not begin or end with our members. We were committed in 2025 to uplifting and supporting communities across Maryland, many times in the face of unprecedented financial uncertainty. And you were an integral part of these efforts. Together we:
- Performed one million acts of kindness during our Kindness Campaign.
- Awarded $120,000 in scholarships and $50,000 in community grants through the SECU MD Foundation.
- Engaged 500+ elementary students in dynamic financial education courses.
- Expanded our partnership with University System of Maryland schools, officially launching the Maryland Terps debit card and supporting students, faculty, and staff with financial wellness programs.
In 2026, we’re excited to continue supporting your financial wellness, improving your experience at every step in your financial journey, and helping our local Maryland communities.
