Meet the Manager
Karima Johnson has over 20 years in the retail financial services industry and she is currently the Financial Center Manager for SECU in Montgomery County. She focuses on building meaningful relationships with business owners in Silver Spring as well fostering activities to aid in the development of the local community.
Karima grew up in a small town in North Carolina and believes a little southern hospitality goes a long way. She spends her weekends taking long rides with the top down on the Jeep so her 95 pound labradoodle can feel the wind blowing his hair.
Meet the Mortgage Loan Officer
Steve Kanaras has over 20 years of experience in the home finance and banking industry. He joined SECU in 2021. He has helped hundreds of people finance their homes and works hard to make the stressful process of buying a home easier and more enjoyable. He has the knowledge, experience, and skill to find the right solution for members’ home financing needs. Steve specializes in first time homebuyer programs, jumbo mortgages, and investment properties. His primary location is in Montgomery County and the District of Columbia.
Originally from New England, he has lived in Maryland for eight years.
