2026 marks the 20th year of our annual scholarship program. To celebrate, the SECU MD Foundation awarded 20, $10,000 scholarships to community college students transferring to a Maryland four-year public institution.
This year’s 250+ applicants were outstanding. Their commitment to themselves, their families, and communities was inspiring. Their stories, and the connections they made between financial education and a better future, remind us how valuable our work is. Selecting the 20 final winners was no easy task.
On August 6th, we celebrated their accomplishments at SECU Arena on the campus of Towson University. Maryland House Speaker Joseline Peña-Melnyk delivered a moving keynote address. In attendance were SECU and SECU MD Foundation leadership, community supporters, scholarship alumni, and, most importantly, the 2026 scholarship recipients.
