SECU Named to USA Today’s Top Workplaces 2026

National award recognizes top companies across the US based on employee feedback

BALTIMORE (April 9, 2026) – SECU, Maryland’s largest state-chartered credit union, was named today to USA Today’s Top Workplaces 2026,  a national award that recognizes and honors top companies of all sizes across the United States. SECU is one of just three Maryland-based credit unions and banks honored, and this recognition marks the third year SECU has been named to the Top Workplaces list.

USA Today’s Top Workplaces winners are determined by employee feedback collected through the confidential, research-backed Energage Workplace Survey. It measures key culture drivers proven to predict organizational success and employee engagement. The methodology is informed by insights from millions of employees across more than 70,000 organizations and refined over 20 years of research.

“We are truly honored to receive this USA Today Top Workplaces award, which reflects SECU’s unwavering commitment to fostering a people-first culture,” said Amy Wallace, SECU’s SVP of employee experience. “We believe that our employees are our foundation and greatest asset, and their well-being directly translates into exceptional service for our members. This recognition is a testament to our dedication to creating an inclusive, supportive environment where everyone feels valued and understands the value our work brings to the communities we serve. We are proud to champion a culture of service-mindedness that extends beyond our walls, empowering our team to make a positive impact. Together, we are building not just a thoughtful, thriving workplace, but a thriving community.”

Caring for employees and the organizations they care most about is woven into the fabric of SECU’s culture. During National Volunteer Month this month, employees are giving back to the communities they proudly serve, continuing a tradition of meaningful engagement. That same spirit of generosity is reflected in SECU’s longstanding Kindness Campaign each October, which encourages everyday acts of connection and compassion among its team and beyond. SECU believes that true wellness begins with financial confidence, which is why it encourages employees to use its comprehensive financial education resources – empowering them to thrive both inside and outside of work. At SECU, investing in our people means investing in the whole person.

The USA Today Top Workplaces recognition follows SECU’s recent successes, named to The Baltimore Sun’s Top Workplaces in 2025 for the fifth consecutive year, as well as Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions for 2025 and 2026.
