We set out with the lofty goal of creating 1 MILLION ACTS OF KINDNESS in just one month as part of our 2025 Kindness Campaign.
Thanks to you, our amazing, generous, kind members and emnployees, we exceeded this goal. Together, we generated a whopping, record-breaking 1,005,453 ACTS OF KINDNESS in just one month.
How did we reach such heights of kindness? Here’s just a sample of what the Kindness Campaign was able to do.
- 18,000 pounds of food donated to local food banks and anti-hunger organizations
- 2,000 pounds of produce washed and packed
- 9,500 literacy kits and books created and sorted for summer reading programs
- 24 community art projects completed, bringing joy to over 10,000 community members
- 14,453 meals, hygiene and snack kits, and essential care bags packed and delivered for students and families
- 105 trees planted
- 491 bikes built or repaired
- $50,000 in grants awarded to nonprofits across Maryland
And these don’t even scratch the surface of all the heart-warming submissions we received from our members and employees. Acts of kindness paying it forward, volunteering, looking after neighbors, helping strangers, and even letting people merge in Beltway traffic.
Just because the 2025 Kindness Campaign is behind us doesn’t mean the acts have to stop. You can show gratitude and spread joy by donating to our holiday toy drive, continuing to submit acts of kindness here, or by helping the SECU MD Foundation award scholarships to worthy Maryland students.
