2025 SECU MD Foundation scholarship winners

July 7, 2025

Every year, we see the best of Maryland’s students as part of the SECU MD Foundation scholarship program. Students who are driven, determined, hungry, sharp, smart, excited, savvy, and humble. Students who are ready to take their next big step forward. Students poised to become the next generation of local, state, and even national leaders.

Since the scholarship program’s inception, we’ve awarded over $1.1 million in scholarships to support Maryland students. This year, we selected community college students transferring to a four-year University System of Maryland (USM) school. It’s an honor to be able to help these students seek knowledge, skills, experience, and opportunities.

This year’s scholarship recipients again represent the best of Maryland. The 12 recipients (listed below) will each receive a $10,000 scholarship. This will help them take the next step in their educational journey by removing a heavy financial barrier and supporting their long-term financial well-being.

Applicants for the 2025 scholarships came from across the state, representing:

  • 17 of Maryland’s 23 counties
  • 14 of state’s 16 community colleges
  • 11 of the 12 USM schools

Our winners completed coursework at six different community colleges and will enroll in five different USM colleges for the 2025-2026 year. They plan to study a wide range of disciplines, including health informatics and IT, accounting, cybersecurity technology, fire protection engineering, elementary/special education, and exercise science.

Congratulations to all our scholarship winners. Your stories, goals, dreams, and ambitions inspire us. We know that with leaders like you, our collective future looks brighter than ever.
