Referral program new member welcome

Existing SECU members may receive a $50 referral bonus for each new member they refer. In addition, referring members may receive an extra $150 bonus for every three new members they refer. To qualify for this offer: 1) The referring member must share their SECU referral link with a friend or family member who are not current members of SECU. Referring members must be enrolled in online banking to participate in the Refer a Friend program. Your SECU referral link can be found in the Refer a Friend section of your SECU online banking account. 2) The referred person must use the SECU referral link to establish membership by opening a share savings account or business share savings account. Membership eligibility requirements apply. 3) The referred person must also open at least one additional account within 60 days of becoming a member and no later than 12/31/26. The minimum balance to open a business share savings or share savings is $10. SECU will credit one $50 cash bonus to the share savings account or business share savings account of both the referring member and the referred new member within 60 days of criteria being met. Limit one $50 bonus per referred new member.

Referring members will receive an additional $150 bonus for every three referred new members who meet all criteria during the promotional period. A referring member may earn multiple $150 bonuses for each additional group of three qualifying referred new members. SECU will credit each $150 bonus to the share savings or business share savings account of the referring member by January 31, 2027.

New memberships established without a valid referral link are not eligible for this offer. Referrals of existing SECU members are not eligible for this offer. Membership and accounts must be in good standing to receive any bonus.

Advertised bonuses cannot be combined with any other offer. Bonuses are considered miscellaneous income and may be reported as income to the IRS on Form 1099-MISC. By participating in the State Employees Credit Union of Maryland, Inc. (“SECU”) Refer a Friend Program, you (the person agreeing to make a referral – the Referrer) agree to use your unique referral link in accordance with these terms. You may share your referral link with individuals you know, provided your communications comply with all applicable law, as well as the rules and policies of any platform used. The Referrer authorizes the sending of communications to each Referred Person.

You may not make statements about SECU, its products, services, rates, fees, eligibility requirements, or promotions that are false, misleading, deceptive, incomplete, or inconsistent with official SECU materials. You may not represent yourself as an employee, representative, agent, partner, or authorized spokesperson of SECU. Participants are solely responsible for their referral communications and activities. SECU does not direct, review, approve, or control the specific content of communications made by participants when sharing referral links. SECU is not responsible for any statements, promises, or representations made by participants.

By participating in this referral program, the Referred Person acknowledges and agrees that SECU may share limited information with the Referrer solely for the purpose of administering the referral program and determining eligibility for referral rewards. Such information may include whether the Referred Person has satisfied the requirements necessary to qualify for a referral reward. SECU will not disclose account balances, transaction amounts, or other non-public personal financial information beyond what is reasonably necessary to administer the promotion.
