Bre Hill recognized with 40 Under 40 Award

August 6, 2025

It takes a driven, dedicated, and jovial person to inspire almost 600,000 acts of kindness in just one month. But, that is exactly what our very own Bre Hill did last year as part of SECU’s 2024 Kindness Campaign.

For that effort, and her ongoing work bringing together organizations of all sizes to identify and address gaps in funding, volunteer support, marketing, and public relations, the Baltimore Business Journal named Bre to its 2025 40 Under 40 list. This prestigious honor recognizes up-and-coming professionals in the greater Baltimore business scene. Each year, honorees are chosen due to contributions to both their workplaces and their communities.

Congrats to Bre on this well-deserved recognition and for her ongoing efforts and success in bettering and expanding SECU’s partner network and volunteer initiatives.

Prestigious award spotlights leadership in community engagement and partnership growth

BALTIMORE (August 6, 2025) – SECU, Maryland’s largest state-chartered credit union, is proud to announce that Breanna (Bre) Hill, the financial institution’s community partnerships manager, has been named to the highly selective Baltimore Business Journal 40 Under 40 List for 2025.

The Baltimore Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 List seeks to recognize up-and-coming professionals in the greater Baltimore business scene. Each year, the 40 honorees chosen are highlighted due to their contributions to both their workplaces and their communities. Bre was recognized for her ongoing efforts and success in bettering and expanding SECU’s partner network and volunteer initiatives.

“We are so beyond thrilled to see that Bre has been recognized for all of the amazing work that she does not only here at SECU, but throughout the community as well,” said Amy Basta, SVP and chief marketing officer at SECU. “She is a vital catalyst for all our community efforts at SECU, and her ability to build, strengthen, and sustain partnerships truly fulfills the credit union ethos of ‘people helping people’.”

In her role at SECU, Bre serves as a crucial link and driving force, bringing together organizations of all sizes to identify and address gaps in funding, volunteer support, and even marketing and public relations. Her talents and commitment to her work have allowed SECU’s many nonprofit partners to have the year-round tools and backing they need to flourish. In addition, Breanna’s takeover of SECU’s annual Kindness Campaign led to the completion of over 590,000 acts of kindness within the state of Maryland in just one month.

“I’m incredibly honored to be recognized alongside such an inspiring group of individuals who are making a difference in our communities every day,” said Hill. “I’m grateful to work with so many dedicated partners who embrace creativity and collaboration in addressing community needs. At SECU, showing up for the communities where we live, work, and play isn’t just important—it’s central to who we are as a credit union.”

Bre will be celebrated alongside her fellow remarkable honorees on October 16, 2025, at the M&T Bank Exchange at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center in Baltimore. For more details about the event or to purchase tickets, click here.
