Purchase Options

The process will vary, depending on the type of purchase. Dealers help with a lot of the paperwork. If you're buying from a private seller, you'll have to handle more of the details yourself. Here's what's needed:

Dealer Proof of Purchase, Valid ID, Proof of Insurance, Income Verification
Private Seller  Proof of Purchase including notarized bill of sale, copy of seller's title (front & back), inspection certificate (issued within past 90 days), payoff letter (if currently financed), Valid ID, Proof of Insurance, Income Verification
Lease Buyout Lease buyout package, Inspection Certificate (issued within the past 90 days), copy of Title (front and back)
Refinance Proof of Purchase, Valid ID, Proof of Insurance, Income Verification

Select your vehicle

Dealer Take your SECU pre-approval to any dealer. Or you can also make it even simpler with a SECU Auto Check.
Private Seller SECU will confirm your pre-approval so you can shop and negotiate knowing your exact budget.


Once you've agreed to the purchase (or refinance) terms, it's time to close the loan. SECU makes it easy on you, with several settlement options.

At the Dealer  Bring your SECU pre-approval to the dealership of your choosing. 
At a SECU Branch Select the branch location for settlement when you apply online or via telephone. A branch specialist will contact you within one business day of pre-approval.
By Mail Within two business days of your loan being pre-approved, we'll mail you an information packet with settlement instructions. You'll send us all required documentation and we'll take care of the rest.
