SECU MD Foundation Scholarships

It is no secret that the rising costs of higher education deters students from pursuing their dreams of attending college. Since 2007, SECU has offered scholarships to Maryland state employees and their families seeking higher education to offset the financial burden of earning a degree. Starting in 2018, the SECU MD Foundation expanded this program to include students attending schools within the University System of Maryland and Morgan State University’s Business School. In an effort to make a greater impact, our scholarship program is now open to all SECU members regardless of where they attend school or their membership affiliation.

"This scholarship means so much to me because I didn’t know how I would get through paying for college but the SECU MD Foundation brought my dreams one step closer to reality through their generous contribution."
— Annie L.
2019 Scholarship Recipient

In 2018 and 2019 alone, the SECU MD Foundation awarded over $210,000 to 81 bright and energetic students. And we are not done! With your help, we can expand these programs to provide even more reach and impact to students throughout our state.

Essays will be judged by a pre-selected committee. Winners will be notified via email. Winners are responsible for any tax obligations. Current SECU employees and their family members are not eligible for any of the SECU MD Foundation scholarships.
