SECU MD Foundation

SECU MD Foundation Scholarship Program

It is no secret that the rising cost of higher education deters students from pursuing their dreams of attending college. Since 2007, SECU has offered scholarships to Maryland state employees and their families seeking higher education to offset the financial burden of earning a degree. In an effort to make a greater impact, our scholarship program is now open to all SECU members regardless of where they attend school or their membership affiliation.

2020 Scholarship Program

We are excited to announce that the recipients for the 2020 Scholarship Program have been selected. This year’s applicant pool was by far the most competitive we’ve seen and we are pleased to award 26 students with scholarships for the 2020-2021 school year.

Scholarship applicants were asked to submit a 500 – 1,000 word essay on a given prompt. Recipient must be a SECU member and attending a 2 or 4-year college, university, trade, or technical school for the Fall 2020 semester.

“I would like to thank everyone who made this scholarship possible. My pursuit of higher education has not always been easy but I am dedicated and determined to reach my goals. This scholarship will relieve a huge burden and help me get one step closer to my dream. From the bottom of my heart, sincerely, thank you!”
