SECU Announces Plans For New Financial Center in Clarksville

SECU expands presence in Howard County

Linthicum Heights, Md. (June 6, 2019)- SECU, Maryland’s largest credit union, is opening a new financial center in Clarksville to serve existing members and further expand membership in the area.

The financial center will be built in Clarksville’s new River Hill Square development and is scheduled to open in 2020. It will be designed to make in-person banking more convenient, including 24-hour drive-up ATM service and interactive teller machines, which combine the speed and efficiency of a regular ATM with the added convenience of a live teller who can deliver personal, face-to-face assistance for each transaction.

The Clarksville center will create five full-time jobs at SECU. The credit union currently employs over 400 individuals across Maryland and serves more than 260,000 members.

“It’s our mission to make banking and handling finances easier for our 260,000-plus members. Our mobile and online banking services allow members to handle their finances from anywhere in the world, but we also recognize the need to talk to experts and advisors for more complex financial questions,” said Dave Sweiderk, President and CEO of SECU. “We are looking forward to opening another office in Howard County to provide more options and better serve members who live and work there.”

Through SECU’s mobile app, members can pay bills, deposit checks, make person-to-person payments, transfer money, access budgeting tools, set savings goals and more.
