Introduced earlier this year by the newly formed SECU MD Foundation, the Scholarship Program supports the Foundation’s mission to contribute to and support the educational needs in the communities served by SECU, Maryland’s largest credit union. The Donald Tynes Sr. Scholarship recognizes the numerous contributions made by Donald Tynes, Sr., a longtime member of SECU’s Board of Directors.
Each of the Tynes Scholarship recipients will receive a $2,000 scholarship to help them further their studies. The Scholarship was open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors enrolled in Morgan State’s Business School.
“The SECU MD Foundation is dedicated to helping people in our communities reach their full potential through education. We are honored to offer a scholarship in Mr. Tynes’ name that showcases his ongoing commitment to helping Morgan State University students achieve their dreams,” says SECU President and CEO Rod Staatz.
The Tynes Scholarship is one of three scholarship programs offered through the SECU MD Foundation. The others are the University System of Maryland Scholarship (USM) Program and the State Employee Scholarship Program.
